Become an HDSA Advocate!
HDSA Advocacy Terms and Conditions
To maximize our effectiveness, we need to speak "with one voice" when advocating the positions of HDSA. When acting as an HDSA advocate (rather than as an individual constituent), it is important that you agree to the following terms and conditions:
. I agree to use the materials, including sample letters sent by HDSA, as they are intended and will not make changes in the content of any materials provided other than to insert information where indicated by HDSA.
. I agree to promote only the positions on which HDSA has an official policy including current treatments and experimental therapies, experimental surgical treatments, stem cell research, animal research and therapeutic cloning. Copies of HDSA's official positions are available upon request.
. I agree that I will not use HDSA's internet-based advocacy tool to voice opinions other than those supported by HDSA. Should I have an opinion on a topic on which HDSA has no position or if I disagree with the HDSA position, I will contact my elected official through other means including emailing through that elected representative's official website.
. I agree that I will identify myself as an HDSA advocate only when supporting legislation or an action promoted by HDSA. I will not identify myself as an HDSA advocate for my personal opinions that may not be supported by HDSA.
. I understand that to be an HDSA advocate, I must reside in the United States.
Your voice can make a difference in Congress! With the assistance of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, HDSA has a nationwide network of advocates who will help educate public policy makers about issues of importance to the HD community, such as NIH funding for HD research, health insurance coverage issues, and genetic privacy and discrimination. This year's goal: an HDSA Advocate in every congressional district in the country!
I have read the terms and conditions for being an HDSA advocate and agree to adhere to each of the terms above.
