Talk from leaders in research, advocacy, and caregiving for Huntington's Disease
More Information

"Don't be alarmed if you're in the vicinity of Chino High School in the wee hours of Saturday morning around the basketball gym. It's not the Cowboys breaking CIF-SS rules, but rather alumnus Phil Lee in a one-man effort to raise funds for the Los Angeles chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society.

Lee will conduct a 24-hour free throw marathon. It's very personal for Lee, a 1982 Chino graduate. His wife, Tanya, a 1985 Bonita High School grad, was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease, a genetically passed neurological disease with no cure and no treatment at this time, about six years ago. She is among the approximately 30,000 people affected in the United States.

Lee, who has permission from Chino principal Felix Melendez, will start at noon on Friday and shoot until Saturday at noon, hoping to average 800 free throws an hour. He's collected pledges and hopes to take advantage of his experience as a former player at Chino, the University of La Verne and Point Loma College."
