2013 Shoot for the Cure Hoop-a-thon- Waldwick
Sunday, May 19, 2013 | 10:00 AM
Our Hoop-a-Thons are fun-filled, family events with participants of all ages! Participants obtain pledges per basket and set up online fundraising pages to collect flat donations. Per Basket Pledge forms may be downloaded from the hdsa.org/nj website. Once registered, participants attend one of our Hoop-a-Thon events, shoot from the free-throw line and attempt to sink as many baskets as possible in an action-packed 10 minute time period. The dollars raised by the shooters support the programs and services offered by the New Jersey Chapter of the HDSA.
This event is important because it is more than a fundraiser. It is an event where families can come out and connect with other families touched by Huntington’s disease and raise awareness while working toward a cure.
By participating in this event you will help the New Jersey Chapter continue to support HDSA’s fight to improve the lives of people affected by Huntington’s disease and their families. New Team “Hot Shot” Free-Throw Contest
This year we’re adding a new Team “Hot Shot” Free-Throw Contest to add to the fun and excitement! Each team will consist of 5 shooters who will each shoot for 2 minutes during the 10 minute time period. A total of 5 basketballs can be used so many attempts can be made. The other 4 members of the team will rebound while 1 member shoots so accuracy and teamwork will determine the winner. Awards will be presented in the following divisions for both males and females:
Please contact Mike Campbell, VP HDSA-NJ Board of Directors, at 973-784-4965 for more information. There is a $100 fundraising minimum for the team event.
