Cognitive Assessment Battery Study
Cognitive Assessment Battery (CAB) Beta Study
A multi-national research study is currently seeking subjects to participate in the evaluation of a series of tests to evaluate thinking abilities in people who have Huntington’s Disease (HD). This includes both people who have tested positive for Huntington’s Disease gene, but do not yet have symptoms of the disease, as well as people who have developed symptoms of the disease. The study is also seeking to recruit healthy volunteers who do not carry the Huntington’s Disease gene. The purpose of this study is to determine which of the tests are best in showing those changes in thinking that may occur in people who have the gene for Huntington’s disease.
The tests are being developed so that they will be available to test new treatments for Huntington’s Disease in future clinical trials. This study will include about 100 control subjects, 100 subjects with the HD gene mutation who have not been diagnosed with HD yet, and about 50 subjects who have been diagnosed with HD. Eligible subjects should be between the ages of 25-55, and able to travel to one of the participating sites for 3 visits over a 6-week period. Participating centers may be found on www.clinicaltrials.gov under the “Cognitive Assessment Battery (CAB) Beta Study”.
